Our Team
Jessica Bell, PharmD.
I began my pharmacy journey in 2007 as a cashier for Eckerd (turned Rite Aid) in Carrollton, GA. I trained to become a technician while I was enrolled in undergrad studies at University of West Georgia, majoring in psychology with the intention of becoming a counselor. After graduation, I took a full time technician position at a small town independent pharmacy. I loved seeing the relationship our pharmacists had with every patient and how they were able to help them manage their health. I became a nationally certified tech and while I was pregnant with my son, made the decision to go to pharmacy school.
In 2013, I began the PharmD program at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Throughout my didactic courses, I was introduced to multiple avenues for pharmacists, including ambulatory care. I loved the idea of having those personal relationships with patients and also having a measurable, clinical impact. After reading about the success of the Asheville Project, I started thinking about how I could advance the pharmacy profession and make the biggest impact.
The job outlook was grim when I graduated in 2017. I was fortunate to land a staff pharmacist position with a retail chain and began working full time following licensure. After three years of work in retail pharmacy, I decided I wanted to make a bigger impact in the healthcare industry and provide more meaningful care to my patients. I decided to pursue consulting full time and make my dream career a reality. SummitRx is not a side job. My top priority is the health of your patients AND your practice. Allow me to show you the true value of clinical pharmacy practice!
